Proudly presenting my choreography to Antonio Ciacca’s Septet "Pulses!"
Performing with dancers:
To remember the genius of Duke Ellington, 120 years after his birth, one of his most famous collaborations: the one with the legendary African American dancer Alvin Ailey, who exactly 60 years ago opened the first Afro-American dance school in the USA, the Alvin Ailey Dance Company.
On the Piazza Mentana stage "Pulses" (Pulsations), a suite composed for the occasion by Maestro Antonio Ciacca, with the participation of dancers from the Alvin Ailey school in New York, the Vivo Ballet Company of New York and the Yerakhavets Ballet Academy of Barcelona. The 8 movement composition crosses various aspects of Jazz dance from Tap Dance to contemporary dance born from the genius of Alvin Ailey. On stage the septet by Antonio Ciacca with, among others, the phenomenal MIchael Rorby with trombone.
