Selina Shida Hack was born and raised in Queens, New York. She began her dance training at the Professional Performing Arts School/The Ailey School where she studied various forms of dance genres. In 2017, Selina graduated Cum Laude from the State Univeristy of New York at Purchase College, Conservatory of Dance with a BFA in Dance Performance and a minor in Arts Management. While at Purchase, Selina was chosen to study abroad for the Fall 2015 semester at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in Hong Kong.

Throughout the years, Selina has had the privilege of performing works by Lisa Attles, Kimberly Bartosik, Sidra Bell, Tina Bush, Martha Graham, Adrienne Hurd, Jaime Redfern, Pedro Ruiz, Manuel Vignouelle and Kate Wallich.

Selina has also attended summer intensives at Ballet Hispanico, Dance Theater of Harlem, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Earl Mosley Institute of the Arts,The Ailey School and Sidra Bell Dance New York MODULE.

Through her freelance work, Selina was selected to be featured in the music videos, such as "Stereotypes" (2015) by Black Violin, “Everybody’s Lonely” (2018) by Jukebox the Ghost, and “Black Vultures” (2018) by Halestorm.

She has danced for companies such as Gaspard & Dancers, ZEST Collective, Nomad Contemporary Ballet, LaneCoArts, and VALLETO.

Selina is currently teaching, performing and creating in New York City.
