To America Series (Dewey Mausoleum, Historic Green-Wood Cemetery)

A site-specific solo performed at The Historic Green-Wood Cemetery for the performance series To America. In Manus Tuas was inspired by the story of Charlotte Canda, a young debutante who died in a horse carriage accident on the way home from her 17th birthday party in New York City in 1845. She is memorialized in a Victorian mausoleum in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn by Robert Launitz and John Frazee. The solo explores themes of grief, lost love, and death.
